About

I am a mixed media and book artist from eastern North Carolina.  My work is a visual representation of a lifelong love of reading and word-play.  My art has been featured online and in print, most recently appearing in Making Art from Maps by Jill K. Berry (2016, Rockport Publishers).  Teaching is a special joy for me.  As a proud member (and former President) of the Carolina Mixed Media Art Guild, I enjoy being able to give back to the community at large by working with the children’s art programming and creative outreach for the Guild.

My motto: “Have paper, will travel!” For the past 6 years, I have been teaching bookmaking and mixed media methodology regionally and nationally.  Most recently, that has included working with:  primary/middle school children at The Chavis Community Center and teens at The Sertoma Arts Center in Raleigh, NC; a return to the International Paper Doll Convention (2017 in Philadelphia, PA); and the introduction of private workshops/events.  I particularly enjoy designing unique creative experiences for small groups and enriching events for people of all ages and artistic abilities.

When not creating or aiding others in their creative pursuits, I am most likely on the water. I kayaking!  I am also quite fond of walking, hiking, and observing the beauties of nature.  I actively seek new ways to collaborate with individuals and organizations to use art as a means to celebrate, document, and reflect this wild ride we call Life.
